Jörn Kreutel

Jörn Kreutel has a study background in Humanities and Computational Linguistics with Master degrees from Humboldt University and the University of Edinburgh. He holds a PhD from the University of Potsdam, for which he applied concepts and methods of model driven software development to interaction modelling in Spoken Dialogue Systems. Being one of the co-founders of the Berlin based technology company SemanticEdge, he has more than ten years of industry experience in software engineering for Natural Language Dialogue Processing.

As a professor of Software Development at Beuth University of Applied Sciences since 2012, he offers courses on enterprise applications and mobile user interfaces in the Media Informatics degree programmes. Starting from an ontology based mobile application project dedicated to exploring life and work of the German writer Heiner Müller (1929-1995), he has been focusing his research activities on Digital Humanities and on the investigation of bio-bibliographical data based on social network analysis. Together with partners from Humboldt University and the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, he is currently participating in a DFG funded project aiming at the creation of an open data research platform for investigating GDR literature.
