BRIVE founding members Roman Safronov, Daniel Janke and Jan Schmutz analyse and improve driving behaviour of commercial fleet drivers such as parcel delivery and taxi companies. The team receives funding for one year from the Berlin Startup Stipendium by ESF and the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe. Prof. Dr. Petra Sauer is mentoring the team.

Improved driving behaviour reduces the costs of a vehicle on average by 5-10% through lower fuel consumption, fewer accidents and lower maintenance- and repair costs. Having a less aggressive driving style has therefore a high impact on the ROI of a vehicle fleet. BRIVE improves driving behaviour by giving drivers a percentage of the saved costs. This way, drivers financially participate in a gentle driving style. The analysis is done by using the smartphone sensors in combination with Artificial Intelligence and dynamic traffic data.

With its fleet solution the team won already the Digital Innovation Award 2019 by BMWi and the 2. Prize of the Businessplan-Wettbewerb 2019 by the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg.
