BHT English Book Club

Do you love reading and talking about books or shorter literary texts? Would you like to meet new people, discover interesting stories, and practise your English in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere?

Then join the BHT English Book Club!

We meet every two weeks during the semester to discuss short stories, articles, or other engaging texts. This is not a course — there is no pressure, no grades, and no preparation requirements beyond reading (or listening to) the text. The goal is simple: enjoy literature, exchange perspectives, and connect with others across departments.

You are very welcome to suggest texts or topics at any time. The club is looking forward to your ideas.

Flexible participation:

Join us whenever you have time — no registration required.

If you’d like quicker updates (e.g. cancellations or additional information about the texts), you can optionally join the Moodle course. However, important announcements will also be posted here on the website. There is no need to buy specific editions of the readings. Many texts are available online, as audiobooks, or in different versions — just choose what works best for you.

Relaxed lunchtime format:
We meet during the lunch break so you can easily join between classes. Feel free to bring your own lunch. Enjoy your lunch during our discussion. Coffee and tea will be provided. If you arrive late because of another class, that’s absolutely fine. Just come in and join us.
