From 2006 to 2021, the Language Competence Center of Department I organized the successful language competition "BHT Language Award" (former "Beuth Language Award") for the demonstration of exceptional English language competence. After many years of financial support for the prize from Hueber Verlag (Munich), sponsorship for the award was taken over by the Christian-Peter-Beuth Gesellschaft in 2020 and 2021). We thank the sponsors very much for their support!

The award was open to linguistically talented students from all degree programs at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences ( with the exception of students with English as their native language) and gave them the opportunity,

    to demonstrate their language skills in competition with others,
    explore a topical, socially, economically and technologically relevant issue
    and to add an important distinction to their curriculum vitae
    to enjoy an attractive cash prize in case of a successful participation in the competition
