Virtuelle Körperexpositionstherapie für jugendliche Anorexia nervosa Patientinnen (AnorexiaVR )
Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a serious, potentially life-threatening mental disorder and is associated with a high rate of relapse and chronification. The disturbance of body image is one of the core symptoms of AN and represents a central maintaining factor of eating disorder symptoms. Interventions to improve body image are therefore essential in AN therapy in order to improve the chances of recovery and reduce the risk of recurrence. However, specialized therapy options and therapeutic offers are limited. Therefore, an effective and scalable form of therapy is absolutely necessary. The aim of the planned pilot project is therefore to develop an innovative body exposure therapy based on virtual reality (VR) and to examine it with regard to feasibility, acceptance and the strength of the effects on adolescent AN patients. The results to be achieved have the potential to lead to a groundbreaking and widely available improvement in the overall moderate therapeutic success in AN in adolescence and thus the care of AN in a sustainable manner to improve.
