Prof. Dr. habil. Stephan Georg Bernhard Hühn-Lindenbein has been Professor of Food Microbiology at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik since 2016.
From 2010 to 2016, he worked as a scientist at the Institute of Food Safety and Food Hygiene at Freie Universität Berlin. His research focuses on foodborne pathogens, with particular emphasis on developing innovative methods for their detection, characterization, and control. He completed his habilitation in 2017 with research on the characterization of stress-induced gene expression and survival mechanisms of foodborne pathogens.
Since 2016, Prof. Hühn-Lindenbein has also been actively involved in the ongoing projects of the Vibrio research group at the Institute of Food Safety and Food Hygiene at Freie Universität Berlin. The total funding volume of the research projects under his supervision exceeds €500,000.
Prof. Hühn-Lindenbein has authored numerous scientific publications and conference contributions in the fields of food hygiene and microbiology and has delivered invited and keynote lectures at international conferences and scientific meetings.
As curator of the VibrioNet Europe website, he actively promotes scientific exchange and collaboration within the international research community.
In addition to his research activities, Prof. Hühn-Lindenbein supervises numerous undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral researchers through cooperative doctoral programs with partner universities and collaborative research projects, including the Aqua-MRE project.
